In November 2020, Jen Wolosin was elected District 3’s first representative on the Menlo Park City Council. Jen was unanimously selected by her colleagues to serve as Mayor for 2023. Prior to her run for City Council, Jen was the Founder and Chair of Parents for Safe Routes, a Menlo Park-based advocacy group committed to getting kids to school safely. Over the years Jen has served on a variety of committees and task forces for the City of Menlo Park, San Mateo County (SMC), local school districts and coalitions of like-minded advocates. Jen is a gifted public speaker and has delivered talks to a variety of stakeholders and audiences. Jen has been recognized for her Safe Routes-related volunteer efforts by SMC and Parents for Safe Routes was named the 2018 “Program of the Year” by the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. Jen has also been involved in issues of housing, sustainability, equity, good governance and civic engagement.

Jen's community building comes from her background in leadership - founder and president of her high school's Junior Statesmen of America chapter, high school class president and sorority president. Jen has a BA in Sociology from UC Berkeley and an MBA from UC Davis (1st in her class). Jen has two school-aged children and a very supportive husband. When Jen isn’t with her family or studying local policies, she can be found walking her yellow lab, riding around town on her electric cargo bike or doing jigsaw puzzles.
